Samyang 24mm f/1.4 ED AS UMC NIKON (AE)

Samyang 24mm f/1.4 ED AS UMC NIKON (AE)

This Nikon AE (Auto Exposure) version of the Samyang 24 mm F1.4 ED AS UMC lens features an electronic circuit which allows for full control of exposure parameters accessible from the Nikon camera, including i-TTL flash communication and EXIF data, compatible with all Nikon Digital SLR cameras.

Featuring a fast, bright f1.4 aperture, the Samyang 24 mm f1.4 is designed for Full Frame (FX) Nikon DSLRs (such as the D3x, D800 and D700) and DX Nikon cameras (such as the D7000, D5100, D3100, D90, D3000 etc).
On full-frame Nikon cameras, it constitutes a high-quality wide-angle lens perfect for street, landscape and architecture shooting or low light / night and street photography. The fast f/1.4 aperture is able to give a narrow depth of field when required. It provides an exceptional bokeh (the character of out-of-focus areas), due to its design and fast aperture, and usually only attainable by much more expensive glass.
Photographers using Nikon APS-C / DX sized (cropped) sensors sensors will get approx 36mm equivalent field of view (due to the 1.5x crop factor), making it suitable for journalist and general photography.
Samyang 24 mm F1.4 ED AS UMC is fixed focal length (prime) lens, equipped with manual focus. The manual focus ring is wide, easily accessible and perfectly adapted to most photographic applications, except applications such as sports or where Autofocus lenses would be better considered.

For film and video applications manual focus is often the preferred choice, allowing changing focusing during filming and here are increasing numbers of users using DSLRs for filming and High Definition (HD) video.
This Samyang 24mm f/1.4 ED AS UMC Nikon (AE) Lens has a standard coupled aperture, adjustable in 1 stop (1 EV) intervals.

Accurate focus at very close distance or focus critical situations can be achieved through use of focusing in live view mode, available to most newer camera models.
Optical construction of the Samyang 24mm lens features 13 lenses arranged in 12 groups, 4 lenses are low-dispersion glass (ED), plus two aspheric elements. The 24mm features UMC - Ultra Multi Coated lenses for the best possible light transmission, and resistance to ghosting and flares.
The Samyang 24 mm F1.4 ED AS UMC lens offers a professional wide angle prime lens with excellent optics, yet still manages to deliver significant value for money.

Supplied with detachable petal shaped lens hood, lens caps and soft lens bag. Filter size is 77mm

Samyang 24mm f/1.4 ED AS UMC Lens

Samyang 24 mm F1.4 ED AS UMC is a high quality, fast aperture, prime wide angle lens for Full Frame or APS-C sized sensors for : Canon, Pentax, Samsung NX Sony Alpha (A Mount), and Olympus Four Thirds (NOT Micro four thirds) digital cameras. A Nikon (AE version is available, (listed separately).

It is ideal for full-frame cameras, constituting a high-quality wide-angle lens perfect for street, landscape and architecture shooting even in low light conditions. The sharpness is excellent, even at the edges of the frame at wide apertures, and the fast f/1.4 aperture is able to give a narrow depth of field when required.
Photographers using Canon DX / APS-C sensors will get approx 38mm field of view (35mm equivalent) suitable for journalist and general photography. On Four Thirds cameras the field of view would be approximately that of a standard 50mm lens (35mm equivalent), offering a fast aperture standard prime lens.

Samyang 24 mm F1.4 ED AS UMC is a manual focus lens.

This Samyang 24mm f/1.4 ED AS UMC Lens has a standard coupled (clicked) aperture, adjustable in 1 stop (1 EV) intervals. Many of the Samyang lenses (primarily for Canon EOS Mount, although some other mounts also) can also be specially ordered with uncoupled (de-clicked) manual aperture if the primary use of the lens if for video / film making. This allows smooth changing the aperture whilst filming, rather than the clicked 1 EV stop intervals. (AVAILABLE ON SPECIAL ORDER, dependent on mount / availability). Please ask your local Samyang UK retailer for details.
For general photography the standard coupled aperture is generally preferred to avoid accidental change of the aperture during photographic sessions or whilst focusing.

Accurate focus at very close distance or focus critical situations can be achieved through use of focusing in live view mode, available to most newer camera models.

Furthermore the 24mm provides lovely bokeh (the character of out-of-focus areas), due to its design and fast aperture.
Optical construction of the Samyang 24mm lens features 13 lenses arranged in 12 groups, 4 lenses are low-dispersion glass (ED), plus two aspheric elements. The 24mm features Ultra Multi Coated (UMC) multi-coated lenses for the best possible light transmission, and resistance to ghosting and flares.

The Samyang 24 mm F1.4 ED AS UMC lens offers a professional wide angle prime lens with excellent optics, yet still manages to deliver significant value for money.

Samyang 8mm f/2.8 UMC Fisheye Lens

Samyang 8mm f/2.8 UMC Fisheye Lens

The Samyang 8mm f/2.8 UMC Fisheye Lens is a high quality ultra wide angle lens designed exclusively for the Sony NEX (E-mount) and Samsung NX compact system cameras.

New Fujifilm X mount now available!

It gives an immense field of view - 180 degrees, with a 12mm (35mm equivalent) field of view. The 8mm is a diagonal fisheye lens for APS-C format, meaning that the image it produces fills the frame on APS-C cameras. As with all current Samyang lenses it is manual focus only. It is also compact, and lightweight, giving a perfect combination with Sony NEX, Samsung NX or Fujifilm X mount compact system cameras.
The optical construction of the lens is 10 elements in 8 optical groups including one aspherical and two ED elements for optimum optical performance. The aperture consists of six diaphragm blades with apertures available from f/2.8 to f/22. It has an Internal focusing (IF) system which means the lens does not change in size when focusing. Additionally, the Samyang 8mm fisheye features the latest generation multilayer anti-reflection ultra multi-coating (UMC) to minimise flare and ghosting. The integrated lens hood also helps to reduce flare from behind the lens.

Due to the very large depth of field produced by such a small focal length lens, focus can be easily achieved by simply setting the approximate distance on the lens scale. Setting the lens to around 1m at f8 will produce images that are sharp from very close objects to infinity. As with all manual focus lenses for critical or in very close focus situations you can use Live-View to fine-tune the focus manually.
The Samyang 8mm f/2.8 fish-eye lens is also capable of producing panoramas and 360 virtual tours, including full 360 degree images with use of various third party software, available from other vendors.

Fisheye lenses are also popular for special effects use where distortion, exaggerated perspective, or extreme depth of field are desired.

This lens offers superior optics and exceptional value for money.
Samyang 8mm 1:2.8 UMC fish-eye is available in either a black or silver finish. Available in Sony NEX (E-Mount), Samsung NX fit or Fujifilm X mount.

Samyang 8mm f/3.5 Asph IF MC Fisheye CS NIKON AE

Samyang 8mm f/3.5 Asph IF MC Fisheye CS NIKON AE

The Samyang 8mm f/3.5 Aspherical IF MC Fisheye Nikon (AE) Lens is a high quality Fisheye type ultra wide angle lens with CPU for Nikon digital SLRS / DSLRS with an APS-C size Cropped Sensor (CS).

It is a “full frame” diagonal fisheye lens, meaning that the image it produces fills the frame on Nikon APS-C cameras. It produces an immense field of view - 180 degrees on Nikon 1.5x crop sensors.

This Nikon version features AE (Auto Exposure) which has been specially fitted with an electronic circuit to communicate with Nikon DSLRs, and like other Nikon AE lens model allows for full control of exposure parameters accessible from the Nikon camera, including i-TTL flash automatics. With this integrated microprocessor in the Nikon AE versions, the light measurement system is effective in all photography modes, and available for all types of Nikon Digital SLR cameras. Additionally the Samyang AE models record exposure parameters and focus value in the EXIF file data information (Exchangeable Image File Format).

The optical construction of the lens is the same as the other Samyang 8mm fisheyes, with 10 elements in 7 optical groups, with an aspherical hybrid lens and multilayer anti–reflection multi-coatings (MC) to minimise flare and ghosting.

The focusing features an external manual focus ring with Internal lens focusing (IF) design, meaning when the lens if focused the lens elements move internally. During focusing the lens doesnt increase in length avoiding dust or dirt from entering the lens body. Due to the very large depth of field produced by such a small focal length lens focus can be easily achieved by simply setting the approximate distance on the lens scale. Setting the lens to around 1m at f8 will produce images that are sharp from very close objects to infinity. As with all manual focus lenses for critical or in very close focus situations you can use Live-View to fine-tune the focus manually.

Fisheye lenses by design produce barrel distortion and field curvature, exaggerated perspective, and extreme depth of field. Groups such as skateboarders are embracing the Samyang fisheyes for skate videos and photography, due to their very high quality, yet are an extremely affordable option; the alternatives are highly expensive, or are low quality lens adapters offering sub-standard quality.

Other uses include production of high quality panoramas, including full 360 degree image and flash based virtual tours for estate agents, property portfolios etc. This requires use of various 3rd party hardware and panoramic software supplied by various 3rd party vendors. (NOT supplied)

The aperture consists of six diaphragm blades, apertures available from f/3.5 to f/22. The lens hood is part of the body design and helps to alleviate flare from behind the camera.

The Samyang 8mm fisheye lens offers some of the best optics in a lens for its class, and exceptional value for money. A specialist lens, affordable to every photographer.

It is a “full frame” diagonal fisheye lens for Micro 4/3rd sensor cameras, meaning that the image it produces fills the frame on MFT cameras. Offering an exceptionally wide angle of view, up to 180 degrees diagonally, the 7.5mm gives a unique fish-eye perspective and makes it a very useful lens for making panoramic photographs and virtual tours with 3rd party hardware and software.
Samyang 7.5mm fisheye lens is extremely compact, yet this new Samyang successfully combines the best features of highest quality optics and stylish construction, available in black and silver finishes.
The lens construction is 9 elements arranged in 7 groups, 6 bladed aperture, Dimensions: 48.3mm x 60mm, and lightweight at only 197g. The fixed, built in lens hood helps to alleviate flare from behind the lens.
As with all current Samyang lenses it features manual focus, but with such a large depth of field focus can be roughly set with to distance scale on the lens, or for very critical operations can be focused with zooming in to live-view which all MFT cameras offer.
There are no electronics to go wrong with this Samyang 7.5 mm, so when using on some models of camera, including the Panasonic Lumix G series “Shoot W/O Lens” (Shoot without the lens) needs to be set to ON in the cameras menu to allow shooting with this lens.
The Samyang 7.5mm f/3.5 UMC Fisheye MFT lens offers excellent optical performance even disregarding its class and price point, and should be seriously considered for all Micro Four Thirds users wanting a special ultra wide angle fisheye lens for photography or film applications.
